Jorge Manuel Rocha was born in Lisbon in 1952. He studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon. He holds a PhD in Art, History and Archeology from the Free University of Brussels (ULB). He taught art and art history for more than forty years. He lived and worked in London, Macau, Brussels and Lisbon.
